New York City
The first time we ever went to New York City was in 2001, exactly 2 months before the World Trade Centers came down. And in fact, we actually stayed at the Marriott which was at the base of one of those Towers. We absolutely love New York! It is so full of vibrant culture, and there's something going on all of the time. If you have a physical challenge, New York is an awesome place to visit and is quite accessible from the hotels, to the elevator that takes you down to the subway, to the larger taxi cabs which fit a mobility device. Whether you are a sports fan, a theater rat, historical learner, there is something for everyone!
Maryland and Washington DC
Another place that we visited on the East Coast, is Maryland while our son was stationed there for 4 years. It was in Maryland that we found the most amazing crab cakes! We also were able to tour Washington DC which made for some busy couple of days.
Boston
We just recently went to Boston. Our favorite thing to eat was the clam chowder. We were literally ordering a bowl everywhere we went. After heading south, we stayed at the quaint and Charming Plymouth. We also took a ferry over to Martha's Vineyard and toured the island. It was such a cool experience and I highly recommend going.
Maine
Finally, our last favorite place to visit while on the East Coast is Maine! Eric and I visited Maine for our 25th wedding anniversary. The landscapes, the lighthouses, and of course the lobster are out of this world! I would move there in a heartbeat if it we're not for the snow, which is not a friend of mine.
